This kit is a great way for beginning knitters to get into it all. I enjoyed that it taught me how to do a dropped stitch on purpose. I made three of these this summer for a few of the women in my family. Posted is the one in Iris. The other two will follow. Happy to be blogging!!

Moorehouse farms

Here's the completed spring peeper from moorehouse farms. I originally was thinking of giving this to H, but at the last minute needed a baby gift for a friend, and gave it to her instead. I made another one using knitpick cotton yearn for H. it actually worked out better since the knitpick yarn is machine washable.

Earflap Hat

Hey girls,

Thought I'd show the baby hat I made for one of my friends. Simple earflap hat from somewhere online. Her one request was that it could be tied on to keep him from removing the hat. I used two types of Debbie Bliss: baby cashmerino in black and another type in scarlet. On size 10 needles, except for the decreases and the i-cords. What can I say she's a S. Carolina fan. And what can I say he's just too cute not to post.

First Hat and Scarf, Fall 2005

Hey girls,

Thought I would post a picture of my first hat and scarf from last fall. Hard to believe I've only been knitting a little over a year. I've come a long way from just the knit stitch. Now if I could just catch up to my stash...need to stop buying and start knitting.

Baby's hat

One of the first things I learned to make after scarves were hats. I had given all my close friends and family scarves that first winter, but this was the first thing I made that was decent enough to give to a co-worker. Unlike close friends and family who are suppose to humor you and tell you that everything you make is great, co-workers are different. Since than several other co-workers have gotten variations of this. modified from Hip Knits.

In the beginning...

After several attempts to send large photos through e-mail to share the newest completed project, this was the best solution for 3 friends living in 3 states.
