Adding some features to the blog

I added some new features to our blog here over the past week. I have posted the two pictures for Knit from Your Stash and Knitters Against Global Warming (because if it gets any warmer, what will we knit?). I also posted a new section where we can post our FOs from last year, and soon we can add a link list for 2007. I'm working on figuring out how to post a button that is a hyperlink. Gotta do some research on that one. Knit on! -B

more baby sweaters

I've been on this baby sweater kick lately, not sure why. The sad thing is I'm making them in girly colors like pinks and purples, but I really don't know too many people who had baby girls in the last year or so. I really need to get into some baby boy projects.

Anyway, here's the Boatneck sweater in a dark rose color. I also finished my 3rd spring peeper this time in Pale green and purple, but I haven't taken a picture of it yet. currently I'm working on a light purple baby cardigan, but with busy season at work in full swing, not sure when I'll get around to completing and posting. so it might be awhile.

Adding Knitting Blogs on the Sidebar

I've added the knitting blogs that I read to the sidebar. I generally use bloglines to keep track of them. So fear not, I am not spending my day visiting each one to see if there is a new post. I've looked at a bunch of blogs over the past year in order to gain inspiration, knowledge and sometimes just stare in awe. These are the ones that are consistantly well done, humorous and educational.

Christmas Washcloths

Above are few of the washcloths that I knitted for folks this Christmas. The LYS sells homemade soaps, so those accompanied the washcloths. All of the patterns were from a great resource called the Dishcloth Boutique. The link is http://www.jimsyldesign.com/~dishbout/kpatterns/knitting.html

All of the cloths were done in Reynolds Saucy (100% Mercerized Cotton) and done on a sixe 6 needle. I even made some for here at our house and they wash up nicely. Plus, I was able to learn some more designs and wokr on binding off a little more loosely.

Well, S pointed me in the direction of this site (http://wendyknits.net/stash2007.htm)
today when we were chatting, and I'm thinking that it's a great idea. I definitely have enough yarn in the stash to make my projects for the year. Although I did get a gift certificate to my LYS from my mother-in-law-to-be, so I can spend that and it won't count. ;) I'm going to see if I can add the button for the knit-a-long on the sidebar. more detail on the scribbling shawl

It took a while, but I fnally got around to finishing the black scribbling shawl. I think I would have preferred one a bit wider,and I would definately recommend using a super thick double point instead of a circluar and using mohair for both the thick and thin yarn. the mohair makes a huge difference when it comes to the warmth.
